It started out as a wonderful day. Playing outside in the leaves, watching my favorite movie, and to finish off the day, a delicious supper. Sounds like a perfect day for a three-year-old right? Not quite....
After I finished my cheesy and very messy lasagna, I decided to go jump on my parent's bed with Dylan, my brother, who was four at the time. While I was jumping, I was holding a medium-size, plastic elephant toy in my hand. I was having the time of my life, jumping so high my head almost touched the ceiling. But all of a sudden, I felt pain in my forehead. I was so confused and I started crying. Dylan ran to get my parents. My dad came running into the room to see why I was crying. I didn't know why I was crying either. My forehead was bleeding and it was excruciatingly painful. Then finally, my dad realized what happened. It was the elephant. The elephant's trunk went into my forehead.
My dad carried me to the car and we drove to the emergency room. It all happened so fast. All I remember is reading a Dr. Suess book with my dad while we waited for the doctor. I needed stiches and I was very scared. About five nurses had to hold down my legs so I wouldn't kick the doctor while he gave me the stitches. I screamed and cried and I wouldn't settle down. Finally, the doctor finished. I got to go home and I recovered just fine. And I now know to NEVER jump on a bed with a plastic elephant in my hand. :)
