For my choice book report I read Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood. I think that the main characters would be Charlie St. Cloud and Tess Carroll. I always pictured Charlie with dark brown hair, crystal blue eyes, tall, and tan. I pictured Tess with green eyes, light brown hair, and fair skin. These characters are very similar.
I would describe Charlie as an independent person. He is independent because he lives all by himself in the forest. Charlie lives in a small cottage next to the cemetery that he works at as an undertaker. He doesn't talk to people much and mostly keeps to himself. Charlie is also very loyal. You see, Charlie's younger brother, Sam, was killed in a car accident several years ago. Sam is now buried at the cemetery that Charlie works at. Charlie was also in the accident, and he barely made it out alive. Charlie made a promise to Sam that he would never leave him. So every night at sundown, Charlie plays catch with his little brother. Charlie has a special gift that allows him to see ghosts. Charlie is also loyal because when Tess disappears, he doesn't give up looking for her. Charlie is admired by a lot of people and he is very kind. No one in the book is mean to him. Charlie is very kind to even the people that no one is nice to. Especially the crazy man that pretends to have wars with the pigeons. ;)
Tess, like Charlie, is also independent. She likes to be by herself, especially when she's sailing. Ever since her dad died, she has become more passionate about sailing, which she learned from her dad. When she sails, she feels closer to him. So most of her time is spent at sea. I think Tess is very admirable. Almost everyone in town knows who she is and they really respect her. In return, she is very kind to them. She is also very courageous and confident. She spends days at sea all by herself, even through storms. She never gets down on herself and always stays positive. Tess never gives up and always finishes what she starts. This makes her courageous and confident.
To me, these characters were very similar. I thought that they seem like likable people that are easy going. I really enjoyed this book. ENJOY! :)

ReplyDeleteI like that you outlined both characters. You did a nice job of supporting each characteristic with support from the story.
